RESERVOIRS

Chew Valley Lake:
The annual Canada Goose Roundup took place on Tuesday (ie yesterday). 68 birds caught of which 50 were new. A bird with a neck collar was from Cotswold Water Park

Around the lake - summary totals from Keith Vinicombe: 1 Black Swan, 3 Egyptian Geese (1 juv), 16 Shoveler, 8 Pochard, 3 Little Egrets, 225 Great Crested Grebe,  Water Rail, 4 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Redshank, 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Yellow-legged Gulls (juv and a 2nd-year). Not a single Swift in the hot weather
