Wharf Lane: 4 Bullfinch, 1 Reed Bunting of note.

Portishead:
Boating Lake: 1 Greylag Goose, 1 Tufted Duck.
Marina: 14 Canada Goose, 2 Cormorant.
Springfield Rd: 1 fly-through Sparrowhawk, 2 Blackcap.

Kenn Moor:
40 Mute Swan, 10 Teal, 9 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Buzzard, 3 Mistle Thrush, 2 Stonechat.

Yatton:
Wemberham Lane: 2 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel.

Yeo Est:
8 Little Egret but no sign of yesterday's Avocet.

Worle:
Lower Kewstoke Rd: 2 Coal Tit, 1 Blackcap, 12 Chaffinch, 1 male Brambling again.

Sand Pt:
8/1/16 Whimbrel (Paul Bowyer)

Very unseasonal, but we did have a flock of 6 birds at Severnside in December.

Sand Bay:
Beach Rd: The Dartford Warbler still present, in buckthorn opposite No.32. Showing well with occasional singing and song flights (Bill Blake).

W-s-M:
Anchor Head: The Black Redstart still present, Dauncey's Hotel at Madeira cove (Bill Blake).
STW: 2 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler of note.

Purn:
River Axe: 2 Goosander, 1 Little Egret, 1 Little Grebe, 20 Moorhen, 1 Water Rail, 1 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Cetti's Warbler.

Backwell Lake:
1 Water Rail, 2 Kingfisher.

Blagdon Lake:
7 Mute Swan, 165+ Canada Goose, 4 Goldeneye, 4 Grey Heron, 3 Black-necked Grebe (Chris Craig, Rugmoor Pt area), 1 very pale Buzzard, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 GBB Gull, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Jay, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Coal Tit, 12 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Chiffchaff, 4 Nuthatch, 1 Treecreeper, 30 Starling.
Plenty of activity at the Lodge feeders, mostly Goldfinch.

Planet Chew:
Little Egret: 22 in the cow field by Heron's Green.
Ruddy Duck: Great news! Our last Ruddy Duck appears to have been shot today by some nice men from the Ministry. We don't have to worry about them anymore...what a relief!
Otter: 1 close in at Moreton hide. Lots of Otter activity on this side of the lake recently. Otter Gill, our Otter geek (no Mink coat) reckons Planet Chew is large enough to hold more than 1 Otter family.
